• The Associated Press gave Robinson every round except the fifth.
• Robinson dropped Belloise with a left hook to the chin late in the seventh round. The referee was at the count of five when the bell rang, and Belloise was dragged back to his corner. Seconds later, his manager stopped the fight. Under New York rules, it went into the record books as a seventh-round technical knockout.
