"Sugar Ray Seales knocked Mike Nixon down twice and used a strong rally in the final two rounds to score a unanimous decision in a 10 round middleweight bout Tuesday night and snap the Glendale, Calif., fighter's eight-bout win streak. Seales, from Tacoma, and four pounds lighter than his opponent at 156 1/2, put Nixon on the floor in the 4th round with a left uppercut. In the 9th he tagged Nixon with three straight lefts to the head, the last one sending him down again." -United Press International
