Talk:American Mid-West Boxing Champions

Despite the fact that the proffered category was ALL IN CAPS, I don't think we really need a "generic" category devoted to champions of the American mid-west. Otherwise, what's next? Pacific Coast Champions? Upper/Middle/Lower Midlands (British)? And so forth. A page alone should be sufficient, not a separate category.

This page name should not include "Categories:"--Matt Tegen 20:14, 23 Jul 2005 (CDT)

I really love how this page is the 121st most viewed page. You couldn't even stumble on this page, on accident.--Matt Tegen 14:56, 31 Mar 2006 (CST)

Monitoring for Refresh Abuse

This page usually gets, AT MOST, only one hit/view per day. Often times it gets no hits for several days. On Jan 16 it had 2036 views. Six weeks later, on March 1, it had a total of 2143 views--an increase of a little of 100 views (or a little over 2 views per day). A month later, on March 30, it was at 2154 total views--an increase of 11 views (fewer than one view per day). Ten days later, on April 10, it was at 2173 (increased by 19). On April 19 it was 2184. Right now it is 2205. Over 20 hits in two days smells of "refresh abuse"--particularly when, based upon monitoring this and other pages in the past, this page always seem to get a "bump" in views when other lower pages start to creep up close to this one, and then start knocking it down a slot or two in the List of the Most-Viewed Pages. The "bump" in views, which occurs every so often, help to keep this page in the Top 125-or so Popular Pages. When other pages get close to the numbers this page has, this page somehow gets another "bump" in views. (For example, just this week the Fernando Vargas, Floyd Mayweather, Pancho Villa, James Corbett, and Stanley Ketchel pages page views had slowly climbed to the high 2100s, and were about to overtake this page. The 20 views this page got in the past two days have kept it afloat at #126.) As an Administrator, I will continue to monitor this page, and other pages, for "refresh abuse." Further abuse will likely result in the page being deleted and re-created. Note: I am not claiming refresh abuse is occurring; only that it may be occurring. So it is being monitored.
