Bout Summary

After getting robbed against Kid Diamond in a fight he clearly won, Huerta came back against Hinojosa and showed his fight against Diamond was no fluke. Huerta knocked Hinojosa down twice in the second round, although referee Laurence Cole, the ref for most big fights in Texas, was not having one of his finest nights. In my opinion, Cole shouldn't be allowed to ref these fights any longer. He ends up being the story more times than the fighters. In this case, he completely missed the second knockdown, calling it a slip, and then appeared to be calling a halt to the bout, which would have been more accurate than saying it was a slip. Instead, he allowed the fight to continue, not even giving Hinojosa a standing-8 following the knockdown because he somehow thought it was a slip. Then as the bell rang to end the second round, Cole turned his back and missed Hinojosa landing his best punch of the fight - AFTER the bell! Huerta staggered back to his corner. Again, no call by Cole. Huerta went on to dominate, winning easily. Two judges correctly had Huerta winning by double-digits. How one judge scored it 115-112 for Huerta is beyond belief.
