‘’‘Tamer Mahgoub’’’, nicknamed ‘’’“The Persian Prince,”’’’ is a Romanian professional boxer based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Competing primarily around the light-heavyweight division, Mahgoub began his professional career with five consecutive victories and became known locally for an aggressive, pressure-oriented fighting style.

Professional career

Mahgoub entered professional boxing without an extensive traditional amateur background. In November 2022, Romanian media covering the inaugural ‘‘Dracula Boxing Show’’ in Brașov identified Mahgoub as a Cluj-based boxer representing Romania. Former Romanian Boxing Federation vice-president Marcel Boboc stated at the event that Mahgoub had not followed the conventional amateur route before entering professional boxing.

Mahgoub began building his professional record during appearances in Romania and Germany.

On 17 June 2023, Mahgoub faced Bosnia and Herzegovina’s ‘’‘Stevo Babic’’’ at the Horia Demian Sports Hall in Cluj-Napoca. Competing at light heavyweight, Mahgoub stopped Babic at 1:26 of the opening round.

He returned less than a month later, traveling to Wiesbaden, Germany, where he faced ‘’‘Miladin Vranjes’’’ on 9 July 2023. Mahgoub again recorded an early stoppage, defeating Vranjes by first-round TKO.

On 31 August 2023, Mahgoub fought Georgian boxer ‘’‘Badri Gogichashvili’’’ at the Horia Demian Sports Hall in Cluj-Napoca. Mahgoub won by technical knockout 37 seconds into the second round.

These early performances established Mahgoub as a knockout-oriented prospect on the Romanian professional boxing circuit.

Florian Fighting Championship

On 24 May 2024, Mahgoub faced experienced Bosnian boxer ‘’‘Milos Janjanin’’’ at the Florian Fighting Championship event held at Sports Hall Gheorghe Tadici in Romania.

Unlike several of Mahgoub’s previous professional contests, the bout went the scheduled distance. Mahgoub won by unanimous decision after four rounds.

The victory brought his documented professional record to ‘’‘5–0, with four victories by knockout or technical knockout’’’. Romanian media subsequently reported that Mahgoub had won the Florian Fighting Championship promotional belt.

Mahgoub has trained in Cluj-Napoca under trainer ‘’‘Victor Puiu “Lupo”’’’.

UBF title opportunity

In May 2026, Mahgoub was announced for a championship bout sanctioned by the ‘’‘Universal Boxing Federation (UBF)’’’.

Mahgoub was scheduled to face experienced Bosnian boxer ‘’‘Sladan Janjanin’’’ on 29 May 2026 as part of the ‘‘Transylvania Fighting Championship’’ at BT Arena in Cluj-Napoca.

The bout was promoted as a contest for a ‘’‘UBF championship belt’’’. Prior to the event, Romanian media listed Mahgoub with an undefeated professional record of ‘’‘5–0 with four stoppage victories’’’.

The scheduled championship appearance represented Mahgoub’s move from prospect-level competition into a title opportunity against a significantly more experienced opponent.

Boxing style

Mahgoub has generally competed as an offensive fighter who applies forward pressure and looks to work combinations at close and mid-range. His early professional career was characterized by quick stoppages, with four of his first five recorded victories coming inside the distance.

His victory over Milos Janjanin also demonstrated his ability to complete a scheduled bout and win on the judges’ scorecards.
