CANO, Theodore 'Ted' -- Passed away January 30, 2001 at age 86. He was born on September 4, 1914 in Santa Rosa, CA. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired in 1981. He boxed for San Francisco Olympic Club and had his boxing career in the 1930s with 80 amateur fights and a Golden Gloves Champion. He had his professional career for Dolph Thomas with 53 professional fights (49 wins 4 losses). He coached the Navy Boxing team at Treasure Island in 1944-1945. A member of the No. CA Veteran Boxers Assoc. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Alice; daughter Cindy Cano; son Ted Cano (Claire); sister Mary Lufrano; and three grandsons, Tim, Matt and Jason. Private family service ashes to be scattered at sea. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Ronald McDonald House.
