- 1949 film-noir starring Robert Ryan as over-the-hill boxer Bill "Stoker" Thompson, who insists he can still win, although his sexy wife Julie pleads with him to quit. Unbeknownst to Stoker, his corner has made a deal with a local mobster to throw the fight. The entire movie takes place in relative "real time"--over the course of little more than an hour. Contains lots of dressing room scenes, and gritty ring action staged by former boxer Johnny Indrisano (who has a cameo as a corner man).
