    • Norwegian middleweight newcomer Thor Hognerud (74,6 kg )was invited back to Kiel after his game fight in January with middle top Werner Mundt. This time he met the promising Hamburger Dieter Klay ( 74 kg, record 10-1-2 ). The tatooed Norwegian who was also a body builder, was soon hit by a right- left combination to the chin. He got up at 7, picked up the fight, but never saw the right cross from Klay. He was counted out on his back. The large crowd of 10 000 in Kiel's Ostseehalle applauded Klay, who according to German paper " Box Sport " gave himself an excellent gift on this his 23rd birthday.
