Norwegian middleweight Thor Hognerud wanted revenge for a painful KO loss in the first round to German Dieter Klay one month previous in Kiel. Klay showed up willingly at the open air arena of Jordal Amfi in Oslo and again beat Hognerud, but this time on points over six rounds. The German had better technical skill. But the muscular Norwegian was surprisingly fast, and the loss was a moral victory for him. He had often been advised to quit after his earlier knockout loss. Klay shook Hognro with two right hooks in the 3rd. The same happened in the 6th,but the Norwegian was able to counter with right hooks himself which made Klay more careful and the fight more exciting.
