According to a death notice found in the January 11, 1954 edition of the Sydney Morning Herald, Leslie Oswald "Tim" Land, late of Blacktown, died suddenly on January 9, 1954. Obituaries of Tim Land appeared in a number of Australian newspapers within a few days after his death. Land was known for having a stiff leg during his boxing career.
