"Although "Hurricane" Jackson of Far Rockaway, NY, is now ranked 5th among contenders, he still looked like an amateur Monday night as he flailed out a unanimous decision over Jimmy Slade Monday night in their TV 10 rounder at St. Nick's Arena. Unranked Slade has faded considerably since their first meeting but he still had enough life in his hooking bursts to make Jackson appear unimpressive. And New Yorker Slade was handicapped by a gash on his right brow, suffered in the 2nd round. There were no knockdowns." -United Press
- Unofficial AP scorecard - 6-3-1 Jackson
- Attendance - 1,400
- Gate - $2,178.00

- "Tommy's a hard guy to tell anything. He wanted to be a boxing master in the early rounds - and he can't box. And he was in against a cutie. We almost had to belt him in the corner to get him to cut out the fancy stuff and really fight." -Lippy Breidbart, Jackson's manager
