Heavyweight contender Tommy Jackson of New York floored England's Johnny Williams three times to win a technical knockout at 2:49 of the fourth round of a televised bout. Referee Marty Gallagher halted the fight after Williams, his face blood smeared from several cuts, hit the deck for a count of nine. Williams was also felled twice in the third round for nine counts by an accumulation of blows.
