- Title had been vacated by Nathan Cleverly.
- A right hand from Bellew rocked Moore midway through round 1 and after taking sustained punishment, Moore went down on his way out of an attempted clinch. However, the fall was ruled a slip.
- Bellew continued his assault and pinned Moore in a corner to force the stoppage, notwithstanding the fact that Moore was never down.
