"Baby Arizmendi went down tonight before the ring craftsmanship of a master boxer, Tony Canzoneri, who won a decisive 10 round decision over the Mexican flash. Fighting his own fight, outboxing the Mexican in the early rounds and then outslugging him as the bout drew to a close, Canzoneri showed a capacity house that Arizmendi was in no class with the former lightweight champion. Except for occasional flashes of punching, which Canzoneri quickly suppressed, Arizmendi was on the receiving end of a fast left jab and punishing right cross most of the evening." -Associated Press
