Tony Mann, born Anthony Maniscalco, is a cousin of Johnny Dundee.

As an amateur, Tony won 27 out of 30 contests. Then he entered the trucking business and turned pro. Tony was forced to stop boxing on numerous occasions to attend to his business-but he liked fighting too well to remain away from the ring entirely.

He was managed by Maurice Waxman, and trained by Dan Florio.
