"Australian and Commonwealth middleweight champion Tony Mundine stopped Antonio Aguilar of Argentina in the 3rd round of a scheduled 10 round fight today. Aguilar went down for the third time 2:20 into the 3rd round when referee Vic Patrick gave Mundine the TKO. In the 2nd round Mundine landed a low blow and Patrick sent both boxers to their corners and allowed an extra one minute rest for Aguilar, who altogether was given 2:40 to recover. But it was all Mundine when they came out for the 3rd. He attacked viciously with left and right combinations and sent the South American to the canvas twice in the space of two minutes." -United Press International
