- Referee: Sid Nathan
- Commonwealth (British Empire) Middleweight Title (2nd defense of Sibson)
- BBBofC British Middleweight Title (1st defense of Anderson)
"Tony Sibson rekindled his world title ambitions when he retained his Commonwealth middleweight crown and captured the British championship on Wednesday night. Sibson, seemingly in the twilight of his career after 11 years as a professional and 62 fights, stopped compatriot Brian Anderson in the 7th of 12 scheduled rounds to regain the British title he held in 1979 and 1984. Anderson was outclassed and demoralized in his first defense as Sibson threw a succession of body hooks and fierce jabs to which his opponent had no answer." -Reuters
Post-fight comment
- "I am now looking for bigger things. I still have plenty to offer at world level. I have lost two world title fights but I would desperately like a third chance. The middleweight division is wide open and I am the only big name left." -Tony Sibson
Notes
- Anderson down in round 2.
- Anderson down twice in round 7.
