Norwegian lightweight top Tore Magnussen was unlucky when he received a bad cut on his right eyebrow, the result of a hard left in the end of the first round from Ben said Saouita of Morroco (some sources say Algeria). Blood poured, Saouita followed up with a right to the jaw which made the referee stop the fight on TKO.
It was a particularly damning result since Magnussen was due to meet the Spaniard Kid Tano 14 days later in an eliminator for Pedro Carrasco's EBU lightweight title. But his wound grew miraculously well and he faced Tano on December 16th, losing on points without being bothered by the injury from the Saouita fight.
