Nordstrandhallen, Oslo. Norwegian lightweight Tore Magnussen won a 6 round decision over the Australian- born George Scheffel, now fighting as Young George on an Austrian license. Both had their third fight as pros. The visitor was in trouble in the 1st from Magnussens series of straight punches, was forced to take a standing count in the 2nd. Young George opened up a bit in the 3rd and 4th but lacked routine and stamina to follow up. Magnussen beat George around the ring in the 5th, the bell saved the visitor who was caught in the ropes on his heels. In the last round the Australian drew applause from the crowd of 2000 for his ability to never give up in his hopeless situation.
