  • Gatti was busier from the outside, while Patterson picked his spots. Ultimately, the judges favoured Gatti's workrate over Patterson's cleaner punches.
  • Gatti scored a flash knockdown in round 2, dropping Patterson with a lead right uppercut. Gatti suffered from a worsening right eye puff from round five, and a left eye cut in round ten.
