Tut Seymour traveled all over the U.S. fighting and then after his boxing career became a petty criminal with a rap sheet all over the USA. His most exciting crime was national front page news in August of 1933 when he was arrested as part of a huge forgery scheme. The scheme was being run by a prisoner from a Texas prison with involved people on the outside, like Seymour, going to local merchants and making purchases made with forged checks from Oil Companies. Seymour and another man had been arrested in June in Crown Point, Indiana, passing the checks and the whole story broke in August.
At various time he went by William, Theodore as well as his real name Norman Richardson Seymour. The El Paso papers in 1928 referred to him as being from New Orleans, when he was arrested in '33 the AP referred to him as "former Chicago boxer".

Omaha 7-3-36 vagrancy, St. Louis 10-3-37 petty larceny,4-5-39 New Orleans vagrancy and burglary, 5-2-39 New Orleans petty larceny,Mobile petty larceny 11-10-39 sentenced to six months 11-6-39 released 5-6-40, Mobile grand larceny sentenced 8-7-40 (three months and one day after being released) to two years released 8-7-42, Mobile burglary sentenced to 5 years 1-14-43 reduced for good behavior released 9-14-46, Mobile 10-30-46 petty larceny, Mobile 2-16-47 burglary, Mobile 3-17-47 burglary sentenced two years released early 10-23-48.
In the 1940 census he is in the Alabama State Pen and lists Pascagoula, MS as his birthplace. He says he was in Los Angeles, CA 4-1-35.

He is in Jackson, MS, i the 1910 census, age 6,living with his father Norman H., and his Mother. His Father was born in Mississippi and was working as a butcher. His parents had been married 13 years and had 7 children.
He is in Pascagoula, MS, in the 1920 census, age 14, his father had left, and he was living with his Mother whose Father was Spanish and Mother was from Alabama. He was working at the shipyard as a "rivet passer".
In 1925 and 1927 he is in the Biloxi City Directory listed as a "prizefighter".
In 1971 he was living in Tuscaloosa, AL.
