Hailing from Central City in Toledo Ohio, undefeated featherweight Tyler “The Golden Child” McCreary began boxing at the age of 10 to avoid the dangers of the streets and quickly found his true passion. As an amateur, McCreary amassed a record of 87-15 (46 KO’s) and won the Title National Championship in 2009 and 2010. McCreary also captured a bronze medal at the Under-19 National Championships, was a two-time Toledo Golden Glove Champion and won Ohio State Junior Olympics Championship.
McCreary, who trains at Glass City Boxing Gym, made his professional debut on August 15, 2014, scoring a first-round knockout win over Chris Tanner at the Grand Plaza Hotel in Toledo, Ohio. He followed that up with a second-round technical knockout victory over Anthony Molson in September 2014 at the Performance Arts Center in Dearborn Michigan. In his most recent bout on December 5, 2014, he stopped Antonio Gonzales in the third round at the Grand Plaza Hotel in Toledo.
McCreary was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. As a young child, he battled asthma, but was still able to play baseball, basketball and football. When not in the gym, he likes spending time with his grandmother, playing video games (especially Call of Duty) and playing basketball.
