Biography
Tyrieshia "Lady Tiga" Douglas is an American professional boxer and former elite amateur who competed primarily in the flyweight, super flyweight and bantamweight divisions.
A Washington, D.C. native who became closely associated with the Baltimore boxing scene, Douglas developed into one of the leading American female amateur boxers of her generation before entering the professional ranks.
During her professional career, Douglas captured championship honors sanctioned by the Universal Boxing Federation and the Women's International Boxing Association, challenged for the IBF female flyweight world championship, and later returned to competitive boxing through Team Combat League competition.
Amateur career
Douglas had an extensive amateur career before turning professional.
She represented Team USA internationally and was a two-time USA Boxing National Championships silver medalist. In 2011, Douglas represented the United States at the Feliks Stamm Tournament in Warsaw, Poland.
Douglas also competed in the historic 2012 United States Olympic Team Trials for Women's Boxing in the flyweight division. Women's boxing made its Olympic debut at the 2012 London Games.
During the Olympic Trials, Douglas advanced through multiple bouts and defeated Christina Cruz 22-14 to reach the championship contest against six-time national champion Marlen Esparza.
Douglas and her brother, professional boxer Antoine Douglas, became the first brother-and-sister combination to compete in United States Olympic boxing trials during the same year.
Following her amateur career, Douglas turned professional in 2012.
Professional career
Douglas made her professional debut in 2012 and quickly established herself among the leading female fighters in the Washington, D.C.-Baltimore region.

UBF and WIBA Bantamweight Championships
On November 13, 2014, Douglas competed at the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland in a championship bout for the vacant Universal Boxing Federation World Bantamweight Championship and the vacant Women's International Boxing Association World Bantamweight Championship.
The victory established Douglas as both a UBF and WIBA world champion.
UBF championship career
Douglas became one of the prominent female champions associated with the Universal Boxing Federation during the 2010s.
She competed in UBF championship bouts across multiple weight divisions and became a multiple-division UBF titleholder.
Her UBF championship history included title competition at bantamweight, flyweight and super flyweight.
IBF World Flyweight Championship challenge
On July 31, 2015, Douglas traveled to San Juan, Argentina to challenge Leonela Paola Yudica for the IBF Female Flyweight World Championship.
Yudica retained the championship by unanimous decision after ten rounds.
The defeat was the first loss of Douglas' professional career and marked her appearance on the world championship stage against one of the leading flyweights of the era.
UBF Super Flyweight Championship
On June 17, 2017, Douglas faced previously undefeated Ebony Rivera at the Du Burns Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.
Douglas stopped Rivera in the fourth round to capture the Universal Boxing Federation Super Flyweight Championship.
The victory added another UBF championship to Douglas' career and further established her as a multiple-division UBF champion.
UBF title bout with Helen Joseph
On June 29, 2018, Douglas faced Nigerian contender Helen Joseph at Martin's West in Woodlawn, Maryland.
The ten-round contest was sanctioned for the Universal Boxing Federation Super Flyweight Championship.
After ten rounds, the fight was ruled a majority draw.
Two judges scored the bout 95-95, while the third scored the contest 98-92 in favor of Joseph.
The result moved Douglas' professional record to 13-1-1.
Team Combat League
After several years away from conventional professional boxing competition, Douglas returned to the ring in 2023 as a participant in Team Combat League (TCL).
Team Combat League uses a team-based boxing format in which fighters compete in short individual rounds contributing toward an overall team score.
