"Unbeaten Tyrone Everett took a unanimous upset decision over Sammy Goss to win the NABF junior lightweight championship Monday night at the Spectrum. After sparring in the 1st round, Everett carried the fight in the next two rounds, pushing his opponent to the floor and then dropping him with an uppercut for a mandatory eight count in the 2nd round. Goss came alive in the 4th and 5th, hitting his opponent with left hooks to the body. The key moment came in the 6th round, when Everett opened a cut over Goss' right eye and puffed his left eye. From there, Everett worked on the eye the next two rounds, and severely battered Goss in the 11th." -Associated Press
