- 19095-09-14: Following the personal complaint of his wife--who preferred baseball and football--Gov. Donaghey issues order that since boxing is "prize-fighting", and thus illegal under state law, all glove contests must cease. [1]
- 1915-08-03: Mayor J. F. Faucette of Argentina, Arkansas--across the river from Little Rock--orders all boxing stopped. It is the only place in the state where boxing has flourished. Everett Morning Tribune (Everett, WA, USA) wire report
