'Photo Gallery' Code

You place the "photo gallery" code on the image page itself, not on the category page. Gatti has only about four or five photos--which, at this time, does not merit a gallery all to himself. Maybe if we get to the point of having about a dozen or more (that do not violate anyone's copyrights), then he merit a gallery. Anyway, the code is: [[Category: Name Gallery]]

Uploading Images

Self reminder--Uploading images to the Wiki database, such as this one, means and does nothing, and is therefore relatively "worthless"--unless you attach some searchable text to it that, for example, identifies the boxers, or venue, or something else. As you may remember, every BoxRec Wiki page contains a "Search" box that helps visitors find things in the wiki database. When you upload a photo, without any attached text, it essentially becomes invisible in time. :Ric

French American boxers

If you want to add a category for French American boxers to the Ethnic Groupings category you first have to insert explanatory text into the page Category:French American Boxers, for instance, "American boxers of French ancestry", and below the text the category into which the page should be included: "[[Category:Ethnic Groupings|French American]]". Compare this editing window.--Emaster 00:41, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Categories

THANK YOU--to start a category, add a category to someone's page. This will create a new page, which you can then edit, and then nest into another category grouping. Then you can proceed to add related articles to said new category. You don't create a page called "Category:(insert text)"--Matt Tegen 17:57, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Boxing Families

Thanks, Three or more makes sense, I am still doing something wrong from the start.--- keep the creation of boxing families to ones that have three or more members. If you start including pairs, you trivalize the category. Besides, textlinking between the two should suffice.--Matt Tegen 00:25, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
