Vicente Mijares Saldivar was a world-rated lightweight during the late 1970s. He unsuccessfully challenged Esteban De Jesus for the WBC Lightweight title in 1977, losing by 11th round TKO. He is the uncle and current manager of WBC & WBA Super Flyweight champion Cristian Mijares and Ricardo Mijares.
