"World featherweight champion Vicente Saldivar, 125, of Mexico, struggled back from a sloppy showing to score an 11th round knockout Sunday night in a defense of his Mexican title against Fino Rosales. Rosales, 125 1/2, decked Saldivar for a mandatory eight count in the 1st round and the champion was in trouble from then on in his first fight since he won the world title September 26th from Sugar Ramos of Cuba. The end came at 2:05 of the round after a hard struggle in which Saldivar was behind on points on the judges scorecards." -Associated Press
