"Vicente Saldivar of Mexico, used a strong body attack and his 'golden left' to demolish challenger Mitsunori Seki of Japan in the 7th round of a scheduled 15 round title bout in the El Toreo Bull Ring. The end came at 1:30 of the 7th on the order of the president of the Mexico State Boxing Commission as Saldivar pounded away at his helpless opponent. Saldivar controlled the fight from the start and put Seki on the canvas in the 7th with a left uppercut which left Seki spitting blood, groggy and unable to defend himself." -Associated Press
