Vinnie Curto 161 lbs drew with John Pinney 162 lbs by SD in round 10 of 10

Curto's bout had the announced crowd of 1,806 excited. He landed well to Pinney's body, but his chief offensive weapon was his head. From the third round, Pinney bled from his nose and eyes from continual head butting, which turned the crowd angry towards Curto.

Curto said the butts were unintentional, caused by Pinney's style of walking straight into clinches. "Sometimes there were as many as three butts in a round." said Pinney.

After the draw was announced, Curto returned to his locker room "hysterical". Curto allegedly shoved friend and fellow boxer, Vernon McIntosh, to the ground, refused medical treatment for a cut eye and ranted he had been robbed and was done with boxing.
