"Vito Antuofermo of Italy shook Frenchman Jean Claude Warusfel in the 11th, 12th and 13th rounds Friday night and retained the EBU junior middleweight title when the challenger failed to answer the bell for the 14th round. Antuofermo started slow but then handed Warusfel severe punishment. When the scheduled 15 round fight ended, the referee and two judges each had the champion ahead by six or seven points. In the 7th round Warusfel opened a cut over Antuofermo's left eye but it did not trouble the champion." -Associated Press
