"In the first round it looked like Tony 'Kid' Durango was going to make this an abbreviated contest. A left hook to the chin sent Vito Antuofermo to the canvas after one minute of action. Vito had tried to box instead of punch. The results almost proved disastrous. When he arose from the two-count, Antuofermo fought in the style in which he is comfortable. He effectively cut the ring on Durango and punished the Panamanian with repeated body punches. By the 4th round the Kid was slowed considerably. His dancing, which takes him all over the ring with long strides, had ceased to be effective. Durango became an easy target for Antuofermo's hard combinations. The rhythm of Durango's punishment was interrupted in the 6th round when the Kid opened a large cut over Vito's left eyebrow. The Italian's corner did an excellent job of closing the gash, and the fight continued. Antuofermo had won 7 out of 10 rounds on all three scorecards." -INTERNATIONAL BOXING, February 1974 issue
