"Once-beaten Vito Antuofermo, Brooklyn, NY, reeled off his 15th straight win Friday night by scoring a unanimous decision over Vinnie Curto, Miami, in a 10 round nationally televised fight at the Tropicana Hotel. Although there were no knockdowns, it was a rough fight with both boxers mixing it up inside. Antuofermo won the early rounds as he forced Curto back with left jabs and combination rights to the face. Curto took the middle rounds as he abandoned his counter-punching tactics and became the aggressor, connecting with solid lefts and rights to the head. Curto rallied in the 10th, landing a solid left that opened a two-inch gash on Antuofermo's forehead, above the hairline. Antuofermo opened a cut under Curto's left eye in the 8th round. In the 9th, Curto cut Antuofermo under his right eye." -United Press International
