The Vancouver Province, June 26, 1926, reported that Walcott Langford was the nephew of the legendary Sam Langford, which is doubtful. Joe Glaser, manager of Walcott, claimed in a letter to the editor of the Buffalo Evening News, in 1928, that Walcott was Langford's nephew.
