When a bus and a truck collided near Red Wing, Mn., August 20 1928, Walter Pickerd, a passenger on the bus, saved several passengers and the driver by pulling them through the window, although he himself suffered a broken arm in the crash. It was reported the day after that 4 men died and 6 were injured, 2 so severely that they were expected to die.
