William Nack was a journalist and author.
He wrote for Sports Illustrated from 1978 to 2001. He covered boxing and horse racing.
Since leaving Sports Illustrated, Nack has done freelance writing for Time, GQ and ESPN.com.
Nack, along with Edwin Pope of the Miami Herald, was awarded the A.J. Liebling Award for "Outstanding Boxing Writing" by the Boxing Writers Association of America in 2004.
Nack died on April 14th of 2018, at the age of 77.
