"Gil Cadilli sqeaked out a close and disputed 10 round decision over former featherweight champ Willie Pep before a lusty crowd of 5,000 Air Force men at Parks Air Force base. Pep, bleeding from a cut under his right eyebrow said afterwards, 'I don't want to be a beefer, but I thought I had the decision. I really did'. Cadilli rated Pep as a 'cutie' but said he figured he had Pep's number from the 4th round on." -United Press

- State Athletic Commissioner Joe Phillips submitted a letter to State Attorney General Edmund Brown asking for a ruling on whether the fight could be investigated due to the disparity in the scoring. The request was submitted due to the fact they were unclear on how to proceed because of the contest taking place on government property. A rematch was all that was scheduled.
