The July 6 1933 El Paso Herald-Post published the following letter from Wilson Dunn, addressed to Bob Ingram, its Sports Editor:
- Noticed in your sports column that proposed fight cards have been postponed from time to time by Mr. Sage Rose, promoter for the American Legion, for lack of opponents and here I am raring to go. Let me have that big shot (Hy Litter) you boost so often in your sports column. Litter is just a flat wheel fooling the public. I'll knock his ears down on his shoulders. I will slap him to a white blister and then break the blister. I am an Osage Indian, full-blooded and on the war path looking for scalps. The last four fights were won by me by the knockout rout. My victims were Tommy White, Jackie Gibbs, Clyde Chastain and Kayo Kid Wright. I can take Jack Rodgers, Hy Litter, Bert Colima and Ernest Sagues all in the same ring the same night and whip all of them.
