Dutch cruiser champion Wim Snoek never saw the right cross from Yolande Pompey in the 3rd round. The blow caught him on the mouth and spread him out on his back where he was counted out. Before this end, Snoek had been going backwards, offering only an occasional slap with the glove.

Snoek had to be helped to his corner and he bled profusely from the mouth.
