Yaqui Lopez 173 lbs beat Gary Summerhays 174 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10
"Alvaro "Indian Yaqui" Lopez, the Nevada, California and Texas light heavyweight champion, used his superior reach to take an impressive 10 round decision over Gary Summerhays in the Gardnerville ballpark. Lopez, Stockton, punished Summerhays, Bratford, Ont., with vicious left hooks to the body and straight rights to the head. Lopez did not lose a round. A crowd of 2,000 fans, which paid $12,800, saw Lopez stagger Summerhays numerous times. But Lopez was unable to deck Summerhays, who has never been knocked down in 34 pro fights." -Nevada State Journal
