It was a sharp left jab that kept Lopez off balance during the early rounds. Burnett managed to keep Lopez off balance by flipping the jab up from his waist. Lopez staged an impressive rally in the final three rounds and was urged on by the highly partisan crowd who were yelling, "Go Yaqui."
