- Date: 1954-07-24
- Location: Estadio Luna Park, Buenos Aires, Distrito Federal, Argentina
- Referee: Alfonso Araujo
"Fans, including President Juan Peron, saw Argentine titleholder Pascual Perez, 108, hold world flyweight champion Yoshio Shirai, 112 1/2, of Japan to a draw yesterday in a non-title fight over 10 rounds. The Luna Park Indoor Stadium was sold out and it was reported to be a record gate for a boxing event in Argentina. Failure to force the fight apparently cost the champion the decision. The shorter Argentine won cheers as he assumed the role of attacker through most of the fight. Sensing that the fight was close, both fighters started the 10th round viciously. There were no knockdowns and neither fighter was in any danger throughout the bout." -United Press
- Attendance - 27,000
- Gate - it was reported to be 'over' $59,000
