- Stribling's hand was injected with novocaine an hour before the bout. (He had injured his hand before meeting Otto von Porat the previous month, and had had a local anesthetic injected into his left hand before that bout.)

- Scott was knocked down in the 2rd round, and his performance was considered a "fiasco."
- An International Newsreel photo reported that this bout was for the European Heavyweight Title, but it was an elimination bout.
- Scott was down four times in the 1st round, with the bell saving him at the count of '4'. He was counted out at 2:35 of the 2nd round.
- The crowd at Wembley Stadium was estimated at 45,000, which was said to be the largest crowd ever to see a boxing contest in England.
- So impressed were they by Stribling's performance, the London Daily Express stated in their paper, "Stribling should now finish his ring life as acknowledged heavyweight champion."
