"Former top-ranked heavyweight contender Zora Folley had little trouble Wednesday night in disposing of Sonny Moore in a scheduled 10 round main event at the Silver Slipper Ballroom, scoring a TKO at 2:54 of the 4th round. After a fairly even first round Folley, fighting out of Chandler, Ariz., began chopping up Moore, Dallas, Tex., with left-right combinations to the head. By the 3rd round Moore's face was a bloody mask with blood streaming from his nose and mouth." -United Press International

  • Moore was a substitute for heavyweight Tommy Fields who withdrew from the scheduled bout the day before. Nevada State Athletic Commission chairman Don Digilio suspended Fields indefinitely due to him having a history of failing to meet commitments.
