"Zora Folley, using a smashing right uppercut, scored a unanimous decision over Willi Besmanoff in a 10-round outdoor heavyweight match at the Southwest Washington Fair Grounds near here last night. There were no knockdowns, but both fighters suffered damage. Besmanoff raised a lump under Folley's left eye in the early rounds. In turn, the German suffered a cut mouth in the 5th and was bleeding from the nose in the 8th. Folley was in control all the way, except for the 5th round, when Besmanoff rallied with a two-handed attack to the head." -United Press International
