His left is up and down, side and straight, always in action, and his right shoots like a piston. Against Brown, Greb was never in danger. The Greek rallied strong and often, but Harry's superiority was marked. Brown showed best at infighting, although Greb held his own, even at this style of battle. One round might be said to be a repitition (sic) of every other. Brown was aggressive, rushed and swung, and in return Greb countered, ducked, jabbed and popped..True, the Greek never had a round with the cleverer and headier miller from Smokey City. (Wheeling Post Intelligencer) The Pittsburgh Post said that Greb made an uncharacteristic slow start and the first three rounds were even. In the 4th, Brown roughed up Harry inside and on the ropes that they both fell out of the ring. That riled Harry and he went to work and gave Brown a beating in the remaining rounds. His right uppercut found Brown's jaw time and again. He drove George "around the ring with sledgehammer blows."

At the end of the 8th Brown claimed that his right thumb was broken, and in the 9th he was unable to use it, causing the referee to stop the fight. The Dayton Journal described the conclusion of the fight in more detail, indicating that Brown refused to use his right hand after two physicians examined it.

Greb won the 5th comfortably, but Brown got in a few hard licks. The sixth went about the same, so Greb won the last five rounds."

"Sherrif Johnson and his deputies put a stop to the Eddie McGoorty-Knockout Brown ten round fight here on Thursday ten seconds before the end of the last round, by arresting both principals and officials. All are charged with violating the Michigan boxing law. Floyd Fitzsimmons, who promoted the bout, said he would carry the case to the state supreme court. (..) McGoorty put Brown down for the count of eight near the opening of the fourth round. Brown was floored by an uppercut as he was pulling out of a clinch. Brown managed to get to his feet, however, before the gong sounded and for the remainder of the round fought in a groggy daze. It was McGoorty's fight although Brown took punishment gamely."
