Results from the Pittsburgh Press. 300 spectators were present to cheer on local fighter Kinlow. Fairman floored Kinlow in the seventeenth. According to the Pittsburgh Press, when referee/fighter Quinn declared the fight a draw "Kinlow lost his head and sprang from his corner and struck Quinn a powerful blow in the face, which was the signal for a free fight. Kinlow's corner men and friends began to gather in the ring and fell upon Quinn and beat him unmercifully. He was dragged from the ring with his clothing almost torn off. He climbed to the top of the seats with the howling mob after him. Det. PJ Murphy went to his rescue and held the mob back. After some time Quinn was escorted to a car by the detective. It was one of the most disgraceful affairs ever seen in this part of the country. Sporting men claim that it will doom boxing contests here. The decision of the referee, Quinn, was satisfactory to all but the men who backed Kinlow."
