Re: Gary Cornish

He can and has, with (to those who are in the know) typical studious application, seasoned adaptation and growing confidence in his abilities. In most, if not all instances, he has elected to sit in 2nd gear so as not to bring these valued sparring sessions to a premature end. And that includes move...

Re: Gary Cornish

Ignorance is a state of being uninformed. I understand the fight enthusiasts want for a real HW prospect. Cornish has had 25 fights in total. He has made excellent progress and continues to do so. Quality sparring will accelerate his learning. Of that there is no doubt.

Re: Gary Cornish

It's not 'a hope' it's 'a fact'. The progress is there for all to see. Plenty mouths commenting who have not witnessed the significant improvements with every outing. And comparing him to Dallas is just complete ignorance. The build up to fight 17 starts on Monday. The Venue will be the copper box a...

Re: Gary Cornish

Tyson fury couldn't stop him, hughie fury couldn't stop him, Sam sexton couldn't stop him, Tom Dallas couldn't stop him, Mariusz wach couldn't stop him. Gary Cornish stopped him. Worked him over slick, he was ready to go in 5 but Cornish was enjoying the workout. This one was never about the win, th...

Over the course of the fight I see Fury giving Haye a really hard time with his quick hands and mobility. Fury by frustrating points win.

Aye that's me. No problem getting time to travel. Last sparring trip was with David Price, before that John Lewis Dickenson. It's happening and the quest continues. Cheers Moose? ;)

Re: Tough test for unbeaten heavyweight Gary Cornish on Friday

Like I say Billy, anyone with an interest in boxing can spot flaws. It's irradicating said flaws that will be the primary exercise. Bundles of quality sparring indeed. We are on the hunt.

Re: Tough test for unbeaten heavyweight Gary Cornish on Friday

Cornish has zero input into who he's fighting at this juncture. To say he's not learning from these fights is ridiculous. The fact that he was dropped by a big left hook is in itself a superb lesson. There are plenty of British heavyweights who are without titles. It's a question as to whether they ...

Re: Tough test for unbeaten heavyweight Gary Cornish on Friday

I haven't seen this fellow Cornish in action but it's obvious to me that any boxer who hasn't had an extensive amateur career needs to learn his trade in the pros. Right now Cornish is slowly picking up the basics the way the old time boxers did. Every match is a learning experience and Cornish has...

Re: Tough test for unbeaten heavyweight Gary Cornish on Friday

Another learning fight. Nowt wrong with the big mans chin. That was a hell of a shot right on the sweet spot and he recovered instantly. Dominated after the first, confidence was building nicely rounds 2-4 and Evora would have been stopped in 5. No doubt. Onwards and upwards. Anyone on this forum wh...

Re: JAMES DEGEALE V MAHAMDIA

I enjoyed the fight and Degales performance. The French fighter was hard, hard, hard! And if Degale had'nt put the shifts in getting in shape he definitely would have been taken apart late in the fight. That said, it didn't take long for Degale to look ragged an lose his crisp form. Touches of brill...

At this stage, if you're earning you're learning. This particular learning curve is deliberately gradual and considered. The class is coming through nicely. And a word to the wise, anyone who makes the journey North to spar and swaggers through the door dictating and making demands Will be encourage...

Yeah, I was like WTF are you doing?! A clear indication that he was there only for as long as Price wanted him to be. And Sexton had accepted it. Shame because he could and should have put price under a bit more pressure. That said, you cant argue with the finish

Re: New Heavy Gary Cornish

Gary is now 3-0 and is super grounded. He works extremely hard in the gym and certainly has a huge volume of potential. He will be lacing up again in December when he should be sitting at a solid and well conditioned 238lbs. I will try to get hold of the latest fight DVD and produce a link on this f...

Re: Did HW Gary Cornish 2nd fight happen last night?

Considering his lack of fight experience Cornish aquitted himself extremely well. Rasani, being on the receiving end, is the only one who is in a position to give an objective debrief regarding his time fighting the big man and what he had to say was very encouraging.
