Re: Bob Satterfield's reach

It's possible. Jim Braddock wasn't necessarily a big man but he dwarfed Marciano in pictures when he visited him at his gym. 5'9" sounds probably closer to the truth.

Re: Fighters who won twice despite being underdog

Oddly enough I think the Price-Thompson fights were both upsets because everybody assumed that the first fight was a fluke. Price did marginally better the second time but it's clear in retrospect that Price was not the credible contender many thought him to be. Jesus Christ Almighty God bless you all

Re: Bob Satterfield's reach

You can basically determine reach from height. It doesn't apply (obviously) in all cases. I think Tommy Burns had a 75" reach though he was 5'7", and I have the same reach though I'm a shade under 5'10". I'd say there's a margin of error of plus or minus 3 inches. If Satterfield was 5...

Boxing needs a "Mike Tyson Act" just like the "Muhammad Ali Act" saying nobody can be in a bout where the age differential is more than ten years. Jesus Christ Almighty God bless you all Not gonna work. We see boxers in their prime still at 35-38 years old.. where they might sig...

Re: Oliver McCall Returns at 59

Damn Stacey Frazier was old as crap too. At least it was two old men battling it out. McCall kept hitting the dude in the back of the head. From what I saw on youtube he is beyond slower than molasses. Paul would knock him out easily. There needs to be some kind of major reform from the ABC preventi...

Re: Jake Paul vs. Carl Froch - Who wins?

There is a difference between being in shape for your age and boxing shape. Froch would have to train 6 months I suspect before he'd be in shape for a proper training camp with sparring, strength training, etc. It'd take basically a year in order for him to properly do it. Unless his ego is that big...

I had it 96-95 for Serrano. Jesus Christ Almighty God bless you all I assume you had a 10-10 round in there somewhere? I had the 3rd and the 10th even. Let's be honest some of those rounds were awfully damn close. I always say when in doubt make it an even round. :TU: Jesus Christ Almighty God bles...

Re: Tommy Fury vs. Darren Till | DAZN - 18 January 2025

I'd rather the water bottle than the headbutting and flipping tables and screaming like a lunatic bit he's done in the past, but it's still bad taste. Sometimes I wonder if he is encouraged to do this stuff just to drum up more interest since Tommy Fury doesn't exactly have much charisma. Jesus Chri...

Re: Will Anthony Joshua be voted into the IBHOF?

If he retired right now he's got to wait ten years before he would ever be remotely inducted. That's the rules. And yes he's a 2x heavyweight champion he'd be in the IBHOF at some point. Then again is Tim Witherspoon in the IBHOF yet? He was 2x heavyweight champion too. I reckon it don't matter for ...

Re: Round-by-Round: Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson | Netflix - 15 November 2024

Tbf Roy was basically shot from Tarver onwards. I still remember his failed attempts at the cruiserweight title getting annihilated by Enzo and Denis Lebedev. Tyson was pretty much done as a top tier HW in 1997 after losing to Holyfield. Pretty much accurate. The post Holyfield years were largely a...

Re: Jake Paul vs. Carl Froch - Who wins?

The thing is, I have seen guys in their 40s who were great come back and lose to journeymen. Earnie Shavers lost to a guy named Brian Yates who was 5-16-2 by 2nd round knockout. Razor Ruddock was stopped in 3 rounds by the 8-2-0 Dillon Carman who was previously kayoed by a 4-2 opponent. Etc. It's no...

Re: Tommy Burns vs. Bob Fitzsimmons

Very hard fight to predict imo. Burns was one of the top middleweights of his time. He wasn't able to beat Jack "Twin" Sullivan, but he did have a 20 round draw with him for the title. He did have back to back 20 round draws with Hugo Kelly also for the middleweight title. Both Sullivan an...

Paul wins. Name me a single example of a man who was gone for more than a decade without any tune ups nearly 50 years old jumping up 2 weight classes being able to beat even a solid journeyman? I would argue he might be passed Tommy Fury's level at this point. Fury has done relatively nothing since KSI while Paul at least seems to be training constantly with a goal in mind. If Fury is basically Midlands champion level, then Paul is arguably British fringe contender level. That might be bla...

Was able to watch part of Taylor-Serrano 2 as Netflix kept crashing and I thought that Taylor edged it out. She was landing like 2-3 more punches than Serrano in exchanges, especially after the cut. That headbutt was nasty. ((Rewatched the fight and scored it 96-95 Serrano)) As for Tyson-Paul, my ne...
