YOu have got to do it the right way Bill, or you will be too weak for the contest. If you lose too much too quickly you will cannibalise your muscle and will be weak and lethargic.billy bessey wrote:as everyone knows i have a slight problem walking past a pie shop without participating in a pie eating world record attempt in which it must be said im getting closer and closer to breaking. when i got back in the gym a while back i was a morbidly obese 20st i managed to get myself down to a nearly healthy 17st with dieting(and some good advice from phenomenal nutrition) but since then i have gone back up the in weight i was weighing over 18st in my last fight and since then i have gone on a non stop eating spree and i jumped on the scales today to reveal a very unhealthy weight of 19st 8lb im fighting on the 29th feb in pompey and i want to get myself in half decent shape for the first time in about 5 yrs so with eating/training properly what sort of weight do you fellas think i will be able to get down to in 9 weeks? any tips are welcome![]()

I would recommend five or six small meals per day, and some early morning weight training, squats, shoulder press, push ups etc to get your metabolism going every morning.
Depending on your length of fight I would run four days a week, no more and only for about 20 mins - half an hour with plenty of sprints involved.
Take a set of dumbells with you to the park and find a hill. Sprint up it swinging the dumbells in an exagerrated thrusting motion.
I would add this to your regualr boxing training, and would estimate that you will add some muscle and lose fat, ending up at about 17 1/2 stone. I wouldnt worry about the weight too much. Train hard and eat well. What you weighh is what you will weigh, but if you train hard and eat properly you should be fit strong and sharp after 9 weeks.
If you want a recommended diet plan let me know.

Cancel any kind of fighting ???? this man is an ABA champion so maybe he knows a little bit more about fighting than you realise. Asking a bit of advice isnt a crime mate Billy obviously knows how to fight he is not asking guidance on that matter just a little bit of nutriational help so if you are not educational in this field mate why reply.sharpei_louis wrote:Can't believe anyone is seriously advising you of diet plans for less than two months based on your self confessed pie addiction. Cancel any kind of fighting at all, you have to be dedicated if you seriously wanna avoid getting hurt! How tall are you??

Getting below 18 stones seems a reasonable target, if you're intending on giving it some hammer. (17st 13lb is my pick)
Regarding tips to lose weight, try catching this sickness and diarrhoea bug thats going about, it worked a treat for me
